Al-Huda Islamic Centre (AIC)

OUR GOALS

The AIC is focused on advancing better understanding of Islam and supporting welfare needs of Muslims and the community in Newfoundland. Towards that end, AIC shall, but not be limited to:

 

To acquire, establish, construct, maintain and operate facilities to provide services for Muslims of Newfoundland and Labrador (in accordance with Canadian Law) which facilities shall include but are not limited to: Masaajid (Mosques); Schools; Darul Ulooms; Day Care; Senior homes; Homes for needy; Libraries; Recreational centers; Community centers; and Non-profit housing.

 

Tap into the skills and resources within the Province (NL) and beyond to develop the necessary organizational structures, practices and infrastructure that promote growth, continuous improvement and professionalism while adhering to Islamic teachings and values.

 

Promote unity and cooperation amongst Muslims and non-Muslims.

To provide a variety of services which shall include but are not limited to: Regular Islamic lectures/seminars and education; Funeral and burial processing; Social and recreational services; Marriage processing; Counseling; Mentorship, Career guidance, Employment placement; Entrepreneurship facilitation; Management of trust and zakat funds; among others.

To receive and acquire gifts, donations, and bequests (waqf); administer all trust funds; and raise funding from variety of legitimate sources for the sustainability and implementation of the organizational objectives.

To encourage and facilitate women and youth activities and volunteerism.
